From a garden my mom and I shared.
Funny lady, my mom.
She taught me that any unwanted plant was a weed.
Using that theory I let the wild herb Celandine flourish in my woodland garden.
Celandine is a pretty, lacy plant with yellow flowers. It has healing properties for skin ailments. Pretty cool,I thought.
The next time my mom came over we were looking at the Jack in the Pulpits and Forget Me Nots I'd planted from her seeds.
She spotted the Celandine.
"You can't have that in there! That's a weed!"
That's my mom!

The best I could do was call my mom on Mother's Day. :( We live miles apart.
