Intellectualism and Love

Someone posed the question to me recently that intellectual love must surely be oxymoronic.

After researching both words-intellectual & love. I'd have to say I disagree.

Intellectualism and love is where the true problem lies.

Intellectualism:
1 the exercise, especially when excessive, of the intellect at the expense of the emotions.
2 philosophy the theory that knowledge is wholly or mainly derived from pure reason *

Speaking from experience I can say with resolute certainty that to try to combine the two is completely moronic. Worse than some episodes of love at first sight.

Let me try intellectual love. I'll let you know.
