How I See It

Moody Beach Moody ME /photo-Foof 2004
The beach in the photo above is the site where my dad's cremains, (what a pitiful industry term) were laid to rest.
To the left on Moody, Father's Day 1989, family members gathered to carry our dad down to the ocean in Happy Meal beach pails.
Ironically, this seemed somehow appropriate since his flotsam and jetsam were such incredible colors.
White shell-like bits tinged with lavender, pink and tangerine.
We all marveled after looking at them, how many other people's remains might actually be on the sand too.
I watched , pregnant with unborn grandchild, from up above not partaking of the ceremony but preferring to observe.
There was no cannon salute as Hunter wishes. No Parthian shot.
Though, my dad's ashes did drift to the sky as loved ones lifted handfuls of ash and shell-like remains and tossed them into the Atlantic.
I find it quite comforting that years later the ocean has cast up this fitting memorial to our dad.
Captured, by my once absent sister.
