Beyond the rich detail of their floating quilt, garden isle.
Just look at the way
The woman's fingers and toes are curled in rapture.
The way he holds her head, as the treasure it must surely be.

This painting brings me back again and again to Da Vinci's quote,

"To hold someone's head between one's hands..."
