Morphine

This woman, my mom, Mum, is in my house, dying.

Lung cancer, adrenal, bone cancer,two vertebrae,and pelvic bone affected.

Immense pain caused by 35 years of cigarette smoking.

I went to the pharmacy to pick up morphine today.

The pharmacist handed it to me and said, "Have you ever taken anything like this before?"

" No." I replied.

And I hope to god I never have to, I thought.
