Last Winter

Blizzard memories.
Looking out into the never-ending snow I am reminded of the time my mom and I were looking through the window into a Nor'easter. Up in Goshen. The chosen land, high on the hill in Massachusetts.
Ironically, overlooking the location of my dad's site of final destiny.
Our shared gaze came upon two crows on a dark and bare limb.
One crow was all huddled up, feathers ruffled, trying to keep warm . Maybe sick.
It's mate kept moving closer, sheltering, nudging.
Saying, C'mon we can do it , It's okay c'mon.
Crows mate for life
