Clarification
The beautiful little girl below is my daughter.
After two years of fertility treatments and the accompanying ups and downs, she was conceived.
By my ex partner.
A woman.
Because of irreconcilable differences we are no longer together.
My lack of adoptive rights for my daughter gives me no legal access to her.

I hope some day, Gay people will have the same rights in the USA as the Heteros... It's beginning here. There is hope for the USA... :o)

Gays are gaining rights here.
In fact my ex re-married with the sanction of our state nearly as soon as it became legal.
I do think we should all be treated equally regardless.
My concern lies more with my lack of custodial rights at this point in time. This, I know is of great issue to many other saddened grandparents, relatives and caregivers.
After gay marriage is recognized in the whole country,this is the next battle to be fought and won.
And I sincerely hope you will win that battle and see her again. :)
