Today marks the eighteenth anniversary of my dad's death by suicide. I'm certain now that the impetus for his death was fueled by Bipolar Disorder.

According to literature I received from our local National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Bipolar Disorder is a common and highly treatable disorder.

In my dad's case intervention wasn't an option he would have considered.


Treatment has come a long way in the eighteen years since his unnecessary death.
